Fees at Toddies vary by age group and are billed monthly. Please contact us for our current fee schedule. Good to know: fees include all meals and our Holiday Care Programme. Extra-murals such as swimming lessons are charged separately.

Babies can start with us from just 3 months old, in our calm, baby-only Winnie the Pooh room.

There’s no single “right” age. Children join us any time from 3 months through Grade R. We place each child in one of six age-grouped rooms so they’re always with children at a similar stage. See all classes →

In South Africa these are the reception years before Grade 1. Grade RRR is roughly ages 3–4 (our Boho Bird Class), Grade RR is roughly 4–5 (our Under the Sea Class), and Grade R is the reception year at ages 5–6 (our Owl Class), the final year before big school.

Grade R is the reception year for children turning 5 to 6, and it is now compulsory in South Africa. Our Owl Class runs a full, structured Grade R year that prepares children for Grade 1.

Signs of school-readiness include following instructions, concentrating, holding a pencil and basic independence. Our Owl Class graduates leave able to read in both English and Afrikaans and do maths, adding and subtracting up to 100, a real head start for Grade 1.

We’re open Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 18:00, so we cover both early drop-offs and aftercare, and we run holiday care through the school holidays. We close only for about two weeks over December.

Toddies does. Our Holiday Care Programme is included in your fees, and we stay open throughout the school holidays in Olivedale, Randburg.

Yes, all meals are included and freshly prepared on site daily on a 4-week rotating menu. Our meat comes from a Halal butcher and we happily cater for most religious and dietary requirements. View our menu →

Yes, Toddies offers swimming lessons in our on-site heated pool, right here in Olivedale, Randburg. Swimming is an extra-mural, charged separately from the monthly fee.

Yes. Toddies is registered with all relevant government departments: Health, Welfare, Social Development and the Department of Education.

Toddies does. Afrikaans is a core part of our curriculum, and our children leave for Grade 1 confidently bilingual in English and Afrikaans.

Gently and patiently. Our small, nurturing environment, warm teachers and hands-on principal help anxious little ones settle, with extra hugs, reassurance and individual attention until they feel safe and confident.

Toddies does. We have qualified therapists on site: Speech, Occupational and Play Therapy, so children who need extra support get it in a familiar space.

An annual supply & stationery pack (our Starter / Annual Refresher Pack): wet wipes, sunscreen, a hat and water bottle, plus age-appropriate stationery and, for the older rooms, textbooks. We provide the full list on enrolment.
